I am trying to download Final Cut Pro, but it keeps telling me there is not enough space on my hard drive even though there is. Help?

Not heard that one before - try repairing your permissions with Disk Utility.

I am having this same problem.

I tried repairing permissions in my DiskUtility and it didn't help anything at all.

PPlease give your complete system specs including your system hard drive size and available space.

I realized that my laptop only has 2GB of memory. It's a MacBook Pro 13in bought in 2009. Is it true that I'm able to upgrade up to 8GB of memory. Seems like 4GB of space is a lot for a single program to be running.. A bummer I'll have to save up for more memory.

2GB is not enough. 8 GB would I consider as minimum.

Do you know how much 8GB would cost? Even just a rough estimate.

Had the same problem. Here is my solution:

-Had Final Cut Trial version: Erased it from Apps as the official version will do a fresh install.

-Had iMovie: Why if I liked it i'd use iMovie and not spend 299eur on Final Cut Pro X. Erased iMovie as it is 2.9Gb, with final cut I will never need iMovie IMO

-Removed those Apps I don't need anymore. You know... those apps you only used once for that particular thing at one time or another. If you bought it and need it again it will be available again to download.

Once I was done I cleared at least 5Gb.

YYou need at least 10% of your system drive free if your operating system and applications are going to function properly.
