Hi All
I am having all sorts of trouble trying to view window media videos from my university. I have downloaded Flip4Mac WMV player pro and I still can't watch the video. It is rather urgent as I need to do it for an exam at the end of this week. Can anyone help me please?

I highly recommend VLC Media Player it plays almost all media and comes with all the codecs you need. Plus its freeware. Mike

I have downloaded quicktime 7 and it all seems to be working. I am now puzzled with how do I get quicktime 7 to be the default program. Any suggestions??

Rightlick on the file and choose GetInfo. In the info panel there is a line "open With", choose (Quicktime7 from the list and click "Change All".

The videos can not be saved, they are automatically opening in Quicktime. I open them from a webpage. Somehow I need to get quicktime 7 to be the default program. Any suggestions?

Find a file with the same extension on your mac. Then do as I suggested. Also you can set the extensions "coupled" in the preferences
Easier said then done! I have no files with WMV. How do I get these type of files. Sorry I am still so new with apple computers.
Apple is meant to be easier. This is really silly. It should be easy to do this. Apple might need to look at this.
I would just google "wmv sample" under google video. Sorry I am on a works PC with limited internet access.
Ok so I did that and saved a WMV file and changed open with to quicktime 7. Went back into the url where I am trying to get the wmv file from and it still wants to automatically open in quicktime x. Sorry all any other suggestions?
Thanks everyone! Somehow I have got Flip4Mac player pro to work. God knows how I did it but I have done it. Thanks so much for everyones help. It has been a long evening but finally I can watch my recorded lectures for my exam this week.
