Mirroring ain't working properly with my iPad and apple tv...... HELP please

did you get yours to work I have 2gen ipad and apple tv but still cant get it to work uploaded newest ios5 but still no good

Can you clarify the issue? Are you not seeing the airplay icon? Are you receiving an error?

Airplay needs to be enabled on ATV. Both devices on same network. Double tap home button, swipe (left to right) and you will see volume/brightness and airplay. Tap on airplay, select ATV, toggle ON mirroring.

If you are having intermittant issues it's likely network related (perhaps interference). Check www.istumbler.net (netstumbler for windows)

yes i see the airplay icon I can send photos to the tv and they come up but the mirroring word does not show

You can't enable mirroring from within the app. See the instructions above, thats the only way to turn mirroring on.

when you tap the airply tab this comes up in the box ipad, apple tv living room but not mirroring

and i have done what you said on the ipad have double clicked the button on the ipad and on the buttom of the ipad the programs come up and i scroll to to right? i think and the airplay tab come up i tap it to open it it shows ipad apple tv living room but not the mirroring word ?/😟

Is this after double tapping the home button, and swiping or within an app? Ensure your ATV is up to date, try rebooting iPad

so this means that i need to go on the internet and have the apple tv connect to wireless net work and my toshiba computor and ipad which i do any way but then how do you update the apple tv does this 😕 do it by itself as their is no way of giving this command from the apple tv . it updated something the other day i dont know how but it still does not work but will try agian 😐

You should be connected to your wireless network at all times, in order to use any Internet features of the ATV you would need to be connected to that as well

To update go into settings - update software

It does not update by itself, you have to initiate it

So you're running IOS 5 on your Apple TV? Is this an iPad 1 or 2?

Other than that I would have to go back to the network as the possible cause

Just to clarify, when you see "Apple tv living room" are you actually selecting it? The mirroring option will not show up until you've tapped on Apple Tv to select it
