First gen iPad SO **** SLOW

Hey guys and girls

I'm really getting fed up with my first gen ipad. Ofter updating it to iOS 5 it has slowed down so much. Even the native iOS apps like Safari crash all the time. I have tuned off all the notifications, bluetooth - everything.

I would so much want to downgrade to iOS 4 but since Apple doesn't support it, it seems I have nothing else to do than jailbrake and try my luck from there or.. simply throw it away. It's really dissapointing because I'm a great fan of Apple and it's products. But the way iOS slows down first gen iPad is plain ridicilous.

Anyone have any idea is there some hidden ways to speed up the iPad or how is it possible to downgrade to iOS 4?
