I am a recent convert and primarily use Safari and Chrome for browsing.
I've noticed that unlike Chrome (& even Firefox), Safari doesn't remember my username (Chrome does this automatically). It sometimes asks to store both Username and password but never username alone. I don't want it to remember my password.

Go to Safari > Preferences - Autofill
If you have User names and passwords selected, then Safari will ask to store passwords in Keychain Access. Keep in mind, as a security precaution, not all sites allow for the "autofill" feature for user names.
Hi Carolyn...thanks for the reply....in this case will Safari also remember the password? I ask this because I don't want it to remember my password (just the username). Any idea if this can be done for Gmail?

Open Keychain Access located in /Applications/Utilities
Select Passwords on the left.
Type gmail in the search field on the right.
If that shows a gmail keychain, right or control click that keychain, then click Delete.
Go back to Safari. Login to your gmail account. If it asks to save your login data, click No.
No guarantees it will only remember the user name... it depends on the site.
Thanks...but even this didn't help.....as you mentioned....maybe Gmail doesn't allow this...will try for other websites in future.

My question: Where is application? Where is utilities? I am new to iPad.. Cannot find in the setting..
gmail apparently acts differently in safari than in firefox/chrome. I noticed this also. Safari won't remember my username for the gmail homepage but firefox and chrome remember it, even though I don't have the pword saved for firefox/chrome.
