ipod not showing in itunes

I had a problem with ipod not showing in itunes, and i fixed it by pluging a memory stick in fyrst and then my ipod....

my windowsXP is not on drive C: and if I plug ipod in, it normaly gets the drive letter C:. That is apperantly not allowed.
