What are Safari bookmark Collections

What are Safari bookmark Collections

When I click on the bookmark icon (open book - Show All bookmarks) I get 2 columns. In the left column I have 2 categories, COLLECTIONS and BOOKMARKS.

Under Collections I have History, Bookmarks Bar, Bookmarks Menu, Address Book,, Bonjour, and All RSS Feeds

Under Bookmarks I have one folder which I created that has 5 bookmarks.

Bookmarks Menu under Collections shows in the right colum all my bookmark folders and individual bookmarks, with the exception of the one folder in Bookmarks.

Why are these Bookmarks Shown in the Bookmarks menu not under the category BOOKMARKS.

I use Xmark to sync my bookmarks but the folder and bookmarks under the BOOKMARS category are not being synced.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7), MacBook Air, IPad v1, Apple TV v2

Thanks, I am still not clear why when I add a Bookmark folder is is added in the Bookmarks section and does not show up in the Collections section under Bookmarks Menu. How do I add a Bookmarks folder to the Bookmark menu in the Collections section? This were most of my bookmarike and bookmark folders are located.

Can I move or copy the folders and bookmarks listed in Collections to the Bookmark Menu in the Bookmarks section?

To add a folder from the Bookmarks section to the Collections section, click Bookmarks Menu in the Collections section (it will be highlighted in blue) and then drag the folder from the Bookmarks section on the left over to the right panel.

Similarly, to move a folder from the Collections section to the Bookmarks section, select either the Bookmarks Menu or the Bookmarks bar in the Collections section, and drag the folder you want from the right panel into the Bookmarks section at the left.
