I can't update the artist info on my iphone

I have an iPhone 4 with IOS 5.0.1 and latest iTunes. I do not use iTunes as a media player and have no songs in my iTunes music library. I want to put music on my iPhone but do not want to add it to my iTunes music library. I drag the songs that I want to put on the phone over to the iPhone section called music. iTunes adds the songs to my phone. However some of the info is wrong so I click on 'get info' and type in the correct info. But I can not make my iTunes update the info on my actual phone. When I eject the phone and open the Music app the info is still wrong. I plug the phone back in and click on the iPhone in iTunes and then click music. I see the correct info displayed here.

So my question is how can I get iTunes to send that correct info to my phone?

Before you put them on the iPhone, update the track info with whatever app you use to edit tags.

This way it is the same everywhere (iPhone and your library).

Thanks for the suggestion but this is unacceptable that it's now broken and it use to work since apple release the ipod and iphone. This is an iOS5 issue in that you can't update the songs once on the iPod😠

Apple need to sort this out

I agree that it should work. But for some reason it does not.

However, I don't understand why you want to keep songs with incorrect info and then correct them on the phone every time you add them to the phone. Most people would want to do it one time.
