Is there a noticeable difference from a 2gb ram to 8gb ram on 2.3ghz mac mini?
Just asking if it is worth upgrading to 8gb on my 2.3ghz mac mini with 2gb of ram in it.
Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Depends.
If you are not using the RAM you currectly have then no.
If you Mac is starved for RAM then yes.

I think so, but then I like to open and smoothly run a bunch of applications at the same time.
The more RAM you have, the better your mac will run !
What do you use your mini for?
Ram is so darn cheep. I would always opt for more ram up to 8 GB just in case I need it someday.
2Gb for Lion are not enough.
The system is very slow.
After two weeks I upgraded to 8Gb.
There's no way, I noticed a remarkable speed up!
Also in ordinary use.
I don't know how faster is with SL, I installed SL with already 8Gb.
But with Lion it was a terrific boost!
yep, i bought mine from crucial to upgrade from 2 to 8 Gb, dont buy from Apple..they are like triple the $$$!
i bought 2 sets of 4Gb DDR3 1333 [PC3 1600] MT/S 204 PIN Same rams size as laptops!
$50 Canadian. [tax included]... ;-)) Dan06

I have a MBP with only 2 GB of RAM running Lion. It is not that slow even when I run Aperture.

Is it fairly straight forward to add the RAM for a novice? I have never done it before but thought I would try it.
If I don't use the Apple Store RAM, will it cause any issues with the warranty? Did you buy the crucial RAM through Amazon?
Thanks!
