Mac OS 9.2.2 installation on a Tibook Model #A1001

Hello.

A PowerBook G4 Titanium DVI @ 800MHz (Model #: A 1001) has come to my poccesion. Unfortunately, no discs accompanied it. I wish to clean install a Mac OS 9.2.2. I do not want the system to have anything from Mac OS X.

I wonder if you could provise some advise as to where can I purchase a Mac OS 9.2.2 installation disc for this machine.http://www.ifixit.com/Device/PowerBook_G4_Titanium_DVI

Well, Apple doesn't have them anymore, so you can't get the original install discs from them. But whomever you bought it from should have included those, so you should go back to them for those. If they lost them or destroyed them, then your best source is Craiglist or eBay.

There's a possible alternative if you can get by with running OS 9 apps in classic mode while booted into OS X.

Copy the System Folder from another Mac that has OS 9.2.2 installed. A USB thumb dive works great for this. Transfer the folder to your Mac. It won't interfere with your OS X system which is in a folder titled System.

Here's the spec page on your PB.
