business cards in pages

If you are using a template (in Pages) for designing a business card, you start with "editing" your own information onto ONE of the cards, then you should be able to apply those changes (of your personal information & photo) to all the other cards. So far, I haven't been able to figure out how to do that, as it is not self-evident, and there are no sections of the Pages help info to explain how to do such a simple and typical edit. It would be very tedious to have to edit each and every card separately, instead of just being able to do it once and then apply that design to all the cards on the page. Help please!

- click on the "unedited business cards", and delete them, so you are only left with your 1 edited business card.

- take your mouse, and drag it over all data on the one business card to select everything, then go to "arrange" in the top menu, and select "group"

- click on the finished business card, then go to "edit/copy".

- simply paste the copies, into the other areas. You may need to drag them to their proper locations

Sue

When I write

Menu > Arrange > Group

That is the sequence of steps to the choice. Menu is the menu bar at the top of your screen. Just look around, and explore Page's very logical organisation. It works from the big to the small, left to right.

Option/ALT is the key next to the command key.

Unless you are on an iPad but didn't say.

Karen

Simpler and faster to option shift drag copies into place.

Thank you all so much, just different terminology, I think of the menu as the task bar lol. Okay, I am making progress, I have done the copy, group bit but each time I click in an empty space and "paste" it pastes in the last box and I have to drag it down.

I like Peter's idea of being able to drag down so I will have a shot at that. Wish me luck. I am on an imac and still finding my way around 🙂

Magic, grateful thanks. I have a page of business cards, phew. I am learning all the time but sometimes it's difficult following instructions when everything is different to what you're used to. One last question, how do I get to the function that will automatically add in personal info onto such things as business cards? I set it up on my husband's mac mini and now I can't remember!

Pages merges the information from the data in your personal VCard in Contacts/Address Book.

You (the User) are the one with the head and shoulder icon in Contacts/Address Book.

The fields need to match and have the information available.

Many of Pages Letterhead and Business Cards have this already set up but if you need to do it from scratch:

Menu > Insert > Sender Field > add in all the details you want
