I completely agree. If Apple says it's compatible with the operating system of the iPad and the iPhone, and myMacBook Pro is running the same operating system as the iPad, then why is this so difficult?! Why the heck would I want to WRITE a book on my MacBook Pro with iBooks Author but not READ one I've purchased in iBooks..... If I can get iTunes on any Apple device, I should be able to read a book I've purchased on any Apple device too. If you want customers to be happy with your products, then start making your product applications universally compatible. Just saying....

This is just one example of the difference between Apple, who continously make very greedy blunders like this in order to make money and Amazon, who with the Kindle allows all sorts of cross reading/downloading (even to Apple devices), so that they first dominate marketshare... and then make money. Two different companies but one has retail figured out for the long haul and the other just doesn't get it.

Probably about time to short the Apple stock... he writes as he reads the latest Christoper Hitchens book that he bought on Amazon via his Kindle App on his Macbook Pro.
