Iphone 4s Alarm Clock

I have an Iphone 4s running the latest iOS 5.0.1 and have had problems with my alarm clock going off, I set it before going to bed but it failed to go off and I ended up rushing to get to work! Not ideal. I did some test alarms that following morning and they didnt go off either. I deleted the current alarms and re tried them and they now work. Im now worried by using the alarm, I know you can get other apps but I just want thtis one to work! I have read about past problems with the alarm on the Iphones, but wondered if anyone has expereinced it with this latest one?

I have been using my iPhone for my wake-up alarm beginning with the original iPhone followed by the the iPhone 3G, an iPhone 4, and now with an iPhone 4S. I've never had a problem with an alarm going off with any of my iPhones and with every iOS version beginning with 1.0. My 4S is running 5.0.1.

Did you transfer the backup for another iPhone or iOS device to your iPhone 4S?

Yeah I didn't have it on silent and the alarm was turned up, I think it just had a minor problem, I might set another alarm just in case for abit as a back up, but im sure it will work now. That's good yours has never failed! there was a big thing in the news about when it failed because of day light saving changes, but other than that, that's all ive heard. I'm very happy with it compared to my previous window phones.

O yeah why does the alarm clock not use a 24hr clock like the time (if you set it that way) ?

I have had the same problems whereby the alarm did sound on the 1st day of setting but not for the other days set in the repeat list.

My phone was switched off but I thought the alarm would wake the phone up and sound the alarm. I have just tested the alarm with the phone in standby mode and it did sound; maybe this is the way forward but it obviously effect the battery life.

This is a thing. My iPhone 5 has been doing this as well. It's not turned off, it's not muted, I'm not doing anything weird, and I have been using the alarm to wake me up for years. As of late, though, every so often I'll wake up on my own, look over, and see that my phone has an "Alarm" notification on the screen but is completely silent. I'm not sure, but it also seems like the battery has been drained more than usual as well.

There are comments like this all over the internet, so there's clearly some sort of issue here. I just wish I could find a place that had some kind of solution instead of a bunch of people saying "I don't have that problem." 😟

There was a specific issue with repeating alarms about a year ago that had a short term fix of deleting the alarms and readding them. It was resolved by one or another update. Unlike your issue, the alarm simply didn't go off. You may want to start a new thread with your issue, which seems to be one in which the alarm went off as intended but there was an issue with the sound.

Best of luck.

I have been having the problem of every three days or so my phone goes into silent mode and the only way to get sound back is to reset I upgraded from a 4 to a 5 and same problem I was using an alarm clock called nightstand pro so I thought I would change to a different alarm clock and have not had an issue in over a week I cave contacted their support hope they can fix.

Hope this helps people with same issue
