Hi, you likely do need to upgrade, yet it's probably not possible.
Open Java Preferences in Applications>Utilities>Java, do you see these versions...
So we know more about it...
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware> and report this upto but not including the Serial#...

There is a Java for Mac OS X 10.4, Release 6, 7, 8, and 9 available via Software Update. If you haven't already installed those, you can. If you're looking for Java version 6 or anything higher, you can't install that on 10.4; but very few web sites actually use Java anyway.

Though if you still find tht Mini useful, upgrading it to 1 GB of RAM can speed it up significantly...
