using idrums in garageband?

Question

using idrums in garageband?

hi, i just purchased idrum and i'm still having problems trying to transfer the beats i come up with in idrum to garageband. i try using the "midi drag" and dragging it to garageband [and the + thing does pop-up] yet it doesnt appear. what's up with that? -can anyone help?

and also, when i create a new track and go to the "software instruments" idrum doesnt appear, so i cant use it using garageband. what can i do about this?

any help would be appreciated, thanks.

This is what i do. I go to the save file and save the beat i want to use to my desktop as aiff file. Make sure you check off the box at the bottom, to bounce each track seperatley as aiiff file. Then drag each track from your desktop to garageband. I hope that can help you out

thank you, that did help. but its cutting off some beats at the end, i don't know if it should be doing that..

I just DL the iDrum Demo and am having the same problem. Any luck? According to the iDrum help, iDrum should appear in Garageband when you creat a new Drum Track using Software Instruments.

My iDrum doesn't appear in the list. I hoping this is because my app is a Demo.

yeah, i actually had some luck, it works now. look, what you want to do is this..

1. open up idrum
2.select/create the beat you
3.press "ctrl + click anywhere on the idrum page [this brings up the menu]
4. select "bounce pattern to aiff"
5. save the pattern onto your desktop, or whereever you prefer, BUT before you save it,make sure you have the "bounce each channelto separate file" blank.
6. find the pattern [the one you just saved] and drag it to garageband
7. there you go, you have that pattern which is like an apple loop

It sounds like you have a solution, and the way you described is how I like to work between idrum and GB. However, I have been able to get idrum to apprear as a SW instrument in GB. Unfortunately, I am not in front of my Mac right now and I am having trouble remembering the particulars (think it has something to do with getting idrum into the proper plug-in folder on the Mac). If you are still interested in running idrum as a SW instrument, I can post another reply when I get home.

Good Luck, some people have poo-pooed idrum but I think it is a hoot
