IPhone 4s shuts off with high battery

Okay if you can figure out the problem you are a genius.

So my first iPhone 4s started shutting off around 5%(which is normal I hear) but it kept getting higher each time and got to 45% then shut off. Well I got it replaced and the new one worked fine for a week and then one day I had to get a little charge because I had to leave so I put it on the charge at 32% and took it off around 86%. Well it started shutting off at 13% then I did a factory reset and it fixed it for about 4 days and now it shuts off at 27%

I've tried all the resets, tried different cords, and anything possible. The only time I got it to 1% is when I went on a trip I forgot my charger and it shut off at the 24% then sat off for about 8 hours after till I got it to a charger. So I expect a phone to go from 100% to 1%.

I can give the log if wanted

Yep! I'm on my 3rd iphone 4s and it still does the same thing. I've basically given up as Apple doesn't have a clue and frankly doesn't seem to care anymore about helping me either. I've done every type of restore imaginable, set up a completely new itunes account, used a new charger....nothing, same problem! I got so fed up with it, I took it back to Verizon and asked for a new RAZR phone and all they said is "Sorry, your warranty only covers a new iphone!" So bascially, I'm stuck with a phone that will begin shutting off at a high battery percentage and I have to let it stay shut off about an hour and then recharge it to a full 100%. I basically have to repeat this process every 4-5 days. And now something funny is going on with Siri. Every single time I use Siri, she tells me she can't help me right now...on the first request. I will then immediately ask her again and about 50% of the time she will process my request. Usually good to go by the third request. Anyone else experiencing problems with Siri?...... Thanks Apple....Great product!!!

Yeah, the senior advisor hasn't sent me anything back. I knew I should have never trusted Mac/Apple but I cracked into it neways. It seems the problem is just bound to happen with every new phone so it has to be something causing it for all of us. Maybe you have no good service in your area? Because I have trouble with her sometimes because my area isn't the best for service.

I believe I fixed mine, hasn't shut off in over 3-4 weeks now. I let it die (42%) I did the "reset" I held the top and middle button. Then released the middle once the apple came on, it shut off after like 1min, then I did it again, it shut off instantly, After that I went home and charged it over night so it was on the charge well over 8-10hours, took it off and it was at 99% now when I charge it I will usually leave it on after 100% for awhile. It seems to work perfectly 😀 hopefully this will work for ya'll also!! Best of luck. Got to love apple right lol...

Hmmm... just got my 5th phone today -- I give it a week before it starts happening again. I am convinced it is an account thing though. I have tried a different Apple ID, resetting, setting up as new phone, etc. so I am thinking maybe a Verizon account thing??? Not everyone in their posts that I have read have mentioned their provider but the ones that have said it was Verizon. Hopefully we will get it figured out sometime soon. I even thought if I could find a 3rd party app that would tell what the battery percentage was it would help. But all the apps I have tried just tell me the same percentage that shows in the upper right which is not correct. If you figure anything out please let me know. Thanks!

Nope, I'm with Cspire (Aka Cellular South).

I've tried all of the below

New Charger

Different Cords

Overcharge

Run it from full to dead

Reset

Restore (back up and new phone)

Using the phone without Apps, Music, Etc

Sent in data about software to the engineers at apple

Replaced the phone

Nothing has worked...
Last thing I could think of if it is a Signal problem, I don't have the best signal where I live, but I don't see how that could effect the battery on my phone..

Well shoot. So much for that theory... There is a tower right across the street from me so my signal is really strong. I was told that if it happens again on my new phone (I give it a week) then I need to bring the phone back into Verizon and they will call Apple. If they tell me something that fixes it I will be sure to post it here. Thanks!
