Can I synch an old Nano to iTunes that I use for my iPod Classic?

I have an old Nano tghat I would like to put other music on from my iTunes accound on my laptop, but my iTunes right n ow is for my Classic. Will there be any problem plugginjg in my old Nano and putting some of my tunes on it? Will it corrupt my Classic the next time I plug it in? Sorry if this explanation is a little simplistic, I'm not real tech savvy...😉

I think I know what you mean. If I plug in my 3 Gig Nano, itunes will ask if I want to delete its contents, and I say 'yes'. But it's only 3 gigs and my itunes has 7+ gigs of music. SO do I load the newly blanked out nano witrh what I want up to 3 gigs? And then when I re-plug in my Classic, it will look the same and not ask me if I want to delete its content? Again, sorry if I seem dense...

Not at all.

You'll have two options: First, to load only "checked" songs onto the Nano. Second, to "manually manage" the Nano. Since it's only 3gb and you have more than 7gb of music, you'll probably find it easier to "manually manage" it. That means you'll drag over each song or album or selected group of songs from your iTunes Library to your Nano. It's even easier than it sounds:

And none of that will have any effect whatsoever on the Classic.
