"I've tried the draw tool but no success." - Do you mean the tool in the shapes pull-down? It seems to work for me, but I'm not an artist. You might try importing a heart shape you want then use the draw tool to trace around it to get the correct outline you are looking for. When making a shape with the drawing tool, don't forget to place the last edit point over the first and double-click to complete the shape outline. Once drawn, use the graphic tab of the Inspector to assign a fill color. Clicking inside the shape should allow you to add text.

If you check out the jumsoft.com website you will locate keynote animations. these are small masked QT files and one that I have is a beating red heart similar to above. You can make it beat faster or slower if you have QT Pro. It's more 3D than 2D, but you can place text upon it. Of course, if you don't want animation, simply don't start the movie, or take a screenshot.

there is a plethora of these 3rd party animation or art from companies like Jumsoft which ought to be in professional presenters' toolkits. ArtText 2 is another such tool.

The easiest thing to do is get a font that has a heart symbol in it:

Stack a text box over it to put text inside

Be careful, though. If you transfer that Keynote to another computer, you have to install that heart font on the new computer or it will convert to a letter, probably in Lucida Grande.

There are free or very cheap programs for making basic graphics. GIMP, Pixelmator, etc. You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars to make/edit graphics
