How can I delete songs from my iPod Touch (using my iPod), such that they are removed from iTunes as well?  I wanted to be able to delete songs on-the-go, without having to make notes to delete them later from iTunes.

iPod touch, iOS 5.0.1

    You sadlly cannot do this on an iPod Touch. If you are having a problem deleting songs that aren't on your iTunes, you have plug your phone to a computer to turn off automatic media management and delete the songs.

    To delete from ipod, simply swipe across the band/song/artist/album. then click the red button and it'll delete.

    (swipe to the right---------------->)

    Thank you both for your answers.

    @danacarolina7: the problem with doing that, is that as soon as you plug your iPod up to your computer, the deleted songs are automatically re-added to your iPod from iTunes.  It appears that there's no permanent way to delete songs from your iPod, using your iPod.

    I've been dealing with this, but with a case of having TWO listings of a 4-part symphony in my "Classical" playlist, on my iPod Touch.  Yesterday, I was on a screen where there were + and - signs by the titles.  But I don't know how to get that back.
