MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
I installed OS X 10.6.8 combo updater, not realizing that it was already installed and have had problems with safari ever since...including eyeglass icon missing! It also reverted safari back to 5.0.5. I will download latest version of Safari but how do I delete or uninstall second installation of OS X 10.6.8 combo updater????
tried that earlier...it's not there anymore. I am downloading the latest version of safari which should restore eyeglasses...I would like to know how to find and then uninstall the second installation of OS X 10.6.8 combo updater. Does ANYONE know how to do this?? Please help!!
Would you please provide more information and/or details.
Ciao.
the easiest thing is to download the latest version of Safari
Safari, Preferences, Bookmarks, then either tick or untick Book Mark Bar
that didnt do it
go to view in safari, customize toolbar, drag the eyeglasses back onto the bookmark bar.
let me know if this works
not kowing much about your machine, you can go to Apple support, type OSX 10.6.8 into the search box, and then select the correct download for your Mac
Did you ever find the eyeglasses? I just got my MBA back from having the hard drive replaced and I can't find the eyeglasses anywhere. It's one of my most-used icons!
Safari>View>Customize Toolbar. Look for the "Reading List"
Had to update Safari. It apparently got retracted to earlier version while in the care of the Geniuses. All okay, now. Thank you for your time.
