My iPhone 4 has been working perfectly up untill yesterday.
My iMessages stopped working from my phone number and started sending from my email address.
It says my phone number is waiting on activation
I have tried everything..
Resetting network settings
Turning iMessages on and off
Resetting my phone
Checked my phone number in settings>phone
Called apple who were as of no help
I have an iPad too I don't know if that has anything to do with it..
Well mine has fully stopped working (not even from my email)
I am soooooo over it
anyone else notice there was a carrier update a few days ago from telstra. Ever since then I have been with out imessage or facetime.
What are the chances that killed it.
I'm also on 11.2 under the carrier version
Actually, that's a good point about the iOS version!
The Apple tech support lady said I should be on 9A406 which was released recently.
But even updating a while ago its still 9A405...***?!

Thanks Rochelle - I just tried turning on iMessages again and it works... however... FaceTime is still stuck on "Waiting for activation"

Try doing the same thing with Facetime @antman 1984.
I had the same problem with facetime initially, however after roughly 30 mins I went back into settings and it had activated itself!

Problem solved! If you have premium sms service deactivated enable it by calling the operator. And wait 24h then enable Facetime and Imessage and it should work again like charm!
