Grindingly slow internet connection after 7.6.1 update

Hi all,

I've just done the firmware upgrade on my airport extreme time capsule, and now my internet connection is grindingly 'dial up' slow. Previously, it was really fast. It has also started bropping the call and losing PPPoE altogether, requiring having to switch the unit off and on to re find it!! I have no idea how to remedy this......any ideas guys? I'm not overly computer geeky, so make it simple......😝

Have you tried switching wireless channels to make sure you rule out any interference related issues ?

To be fair, I wouldn't know how to do that!! There have been no issues before with signal interference! I thought the unit was suposed to use 2 antennas in tandem for increased speed? The unit has just dropped the ball again, and i've just had to do the 'switch off/on' thing again!!

Are the newer AE Time Capsules faster and more reliable?.....and easy to set up/use?

Experienced the same performance hit after upgrading to 7.6.1. I refused to do any hard resets on anything, and after suffering with download speeds of .4 to .7 mbps, I downgraded the firmware to 7.5.2 and am back to 14 mbps, a 20-30x speed improvement. That's all it took for me.
