My ipod touch is disabled, how do I fix it so I can use it?

I bought an ipod on ebay that states iPod is disabled, can I restore as long as I sync to itunes account, even though I have never had an ipod attached to my itunes account? If I put it in recovery mode and set up as a new ipod will that work for me?

Everytime you enter in a wrong passcode it will disable the iPod after consecutive tries. The only way to completely remove the passcode is to restore your iPod as a new device. More info can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212

You need to place the iPod in Recovery mode and the restore. If the iPod is disable or you connect to another computer (other than the syncing computer) iTunes will ask you to enter the passcode on the iPod before you can do anything with the iPod. Recovery mode erases the iPod and thus bypasses the passcode.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you really don't want to erase all storage from your ipod touch you have four and a half decades of trying to remember your passcode but I think that would'nt be the best idea. Unfortunately in some versions of itunes you are required to enter the passcode in to your ipod touch before you can do anything with it on itunes.

I forget my passcode and im not using the computer last used to sync my ipod. How do I reset the passcode or reset the whole ipod?

Use any computer. The only password u need to remember is the one of ur Apple ID. Then sign in to ur account. Authorize the computer and restore it. Good Luck!
