Mirroring Locks Up

When I try to turn on mirroring, it takes a long time to connect and only does it for one frame. Eventually is disconnects and goes back to Regular menu. I am using an iPad 2 with updated iOS 5 and the Apple TV is updated to 4.4.4. Any suggestions.
