    Today's Update 2012-1.1 fixes:

    • Photoshop CS2 v.8 working again (so far).
    • Dreamweaver MX 2004 v. 7.01 working again (so far).
    • Appleworks 6 'Not supported on this type of Mac' but was working before update v. 1.0.
    • ScrapitPro working again

Those were the PPCs apps that mattered to me. Appleworks I can live without, it's about time I got to understand Excel, anyway. I use(d) Appleworks only to do my tax return on the spreadsheet.

Panic over... here, anyway. For two days, I was looking at $AU2000.00 to get Mac-modern.

    Hi All,

It seems Apple released a Security Update version 1.1 today. I updated my MB Pro and I can confirm that now Office 2004 is working again !!! The other Mac with the same symptom are uprading too.

    Regards,

    Philippe

God, I am so relieved that I'm not alone in this!

I've had a weekend and a day of anxiety and near panic.

All my graphic apps refuse to save and crash.

But I'm glad it's an Apple thing and not my machine.

I've got the same Macbook Pro and specs.

What would be good is some step by step instructions

for a non-techy person like me.

Since Apple releaed the update it seems to me that all you need to do is go tot he Apple logo in the top left and click 'Software Update' and let it run its course.

Re: Security Update 2012- version 1.1

Can anyone tell me how to see whether I have installed the new version 1.1?  I am sure that I had NOT, and only have the original Version 1.0, but today (2/7/12) SOFTWARE UPDATES reports that I am all up to date, and nothing new is available.  If someone has only Update 2012 V1.0, should SOFTWARE UPDATE be smart enough to tell you that Update 2012 V1.1 is available?

    Go to System Preferences

Under System check Software Update Check Installed Software

If you installed Security Update 2012--001 version 1.1. it should be listed, right at the top of the list.

Thanks!  I DO have 1.1, it was installed back on Feb 3 at 9 PM, when I thought I was getting V1.0.  I was confused because I didn't think 1.1 was even available until Feb 5.  Thanks very much.

I just used the stand alone installer for the v 1.1 security update on my Mac Pro.  (I never ran the original version after reading the discussions here.)  All my software is working fine.

When I check the Installed Software list, it shows the update, but there is no version number listed, it's just blank.

I reinstalled the update to see if that would add the version number.  The install appears twice in the list but there is still no version number shown for either.  I guess this doesn't matter.

I'm curious if others who used the stand alone installer have a blank version number in the Installed Software list.

I guess this is all old news by now, but I just installed the update (1.1) a couple of days ago and am unable to open InDesign 5.5 or PS 3. Any thoughts? Many thanks.
