Use Laptop as Remote Screen for Mini

How would i use a Mini if i bought one to run my home network and use to plug in my external drives? Can i use my laptop as a remote screen for it? If i bought one i wouldnt buy a screen so would need to use the laptop as a screen, when doing things on it. Can i do that? if so how?

i now have my Mini... but i cant work out the file sharing permissions. Mini is set up andi have screen sharing so looking at it from my MBP, i can screen share to change permissions, i can also see 'Mini' in my finder bar.

i have given my MBP the permissions to see root dir on the mini, but when i click it in the finder bar and logon to it, i'm only on as 'guest', is that right?

i also dont know who to give permissions to. if i log into my MBP as USER A and my home dir on the MBP is USER B, which of those do i give permissions on the Mini to allow access? which does it recognise as 'THE USER of the MBP'?

i thought i had all the permissions done but i cant even copy over my iPhoto library, one file... 😟

sorted this..

one more question...

when i log into my Mini from MBP, the login with known user screen comes up with my MBP login details. i change it to the Mini details and press save password but each time i login it defaults back to my MBP login. Any way of defaulting it to the Mini details so i dont have to inter them each time?

or better still, each time i login to Mini from MBP it remembers me and logs me straight away?
