I shot a home video on my ipad and I want to upload it to itunes from where it now sits in my camera roll. When I connect my pad to my computer and click on photos or videos it always seems like itunes wants to dump stuff from my computer onto my ipad instead of vice versa. How do I select a single video and/or photo that is on my ipad and upload it ?

You need software on your computer which will recognize and handle your iPad as a camera. Itunes isn't the product for this. On a Mac, for example, you would use iPhoto.
Ok so I can pull it off my iPad with the windows camera wizard. Got it. But then how do I get it into iTunes? Is that the part I need different software for ?
Itunes does not play videos or show photos. These are stored by the PC application handling them. iTunes would only get involved if you wished to transfer videos and pictures from your PC to your iPad.
You should be able to import the video from the desktop into iTunes by going to File>Add to library. Navigate to the file on the desktop or wherever you import it to - and click on Choose. That should add the video to your iTunes library.

@ Jim> .....It turns out you are correct to a certain degree. I tunes does not store the video or photo, but it will however play and show them if you follow the steps posted by "Demo". Basically it just store a shortcut to my files. Thank you for your kind help.
