Q: Updated to 10.7.3. Wifi drops constantly.

Updated this morning. Then it would not hold a wifi connection for more than 5 seconds at a time. Had to use Lion Recovery to install a Time Machine backup to 10.7.2. That took over two hours. After that wifi was semi-ok. Lion has always had a problem with wifi. I am very disappointed with how Apple has handled the Lion rollout. So many problems. I would suggest anyone having problems with wifi think twice before installing this update.

Well, we will need more information in order to try and help you. If you feel so inclined, I would do/answer the following:

    1. What is the make of your Mac (year, etc. Use System Info report to see this).

    2. What kind of Wireless Router are you using?

    3. Have you tried using the combo updater? You can get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484

If you download and update via the combo updater and you still have connection issues, can you verify the driver info by running a system info report and post the WiFi section info into this thread? Here is what mine looks like on my iMac running 10.7.3:

Mine is an IMAC 21.5 inch, mid 2011. I'm in Berlin Germany running a Speedport 723 router. I have not tried running the combo updater. What is the difference between that one and the normal update? I can try running that tormorrow morning my time and if it doesn't work I can always go back to the 10.7.2 using the time machine backup.

I was already current up to 10.7.2. I'm just worried that I'll have the same wireless problem again. When I went back to 10.7.2 it worked like a charm. Should I just take the plunge and install it in safe mode and see what happens?

Well if you are happy and things are working fine, maybe you should wait to see how 10.7.3 shakes out for other people with like machines.

It just makes for a long day if I install it and then I have to go back to 10.7.2 using time machine. That takes 3 hours. On the other hand I don't want to get caught behind the power curve. Its a tough choice.

This is a good case for maintaining a clone along with time machine.

You can apply an update to a clone without disturbing your prime

    disk and try things out.
