Q: Updated to 10.7.3. Wifi drops constantly.

Updated this morning. Then it would not hold a wifi connection for more than 5 seconds at a time. Had to use Lion Recovery to install a Time Machine backup to 10.7.2. That took over two hours. After that wifi was semi-ok. Lion has always had a problem with wifi. I am very disappointed with how Apple has handled the Lion rollout. So many problems. I would suggest anyone having problems with wifi think twice before installing this update.

Same problem here (Germany). Wifi drops every few minutes. The Airport symbol becomes grey, then grey with an exclamation mark, then it connects itself again. After all that it stops connecting completely and I have to restart the modem (and if it doesent help I restart my Mac too). this happens many times in a day and it is totaly frustrating!

    Quick fix please!

I also switched to "g" instead of "n" speed and things got better. I' let you know if anything changes.

So 4 hours passed by and I didn't have any drops. Hope this lasts and that Apple fixes the "n" issue!

Maybe it is the way OS X treats the wireless connections. Maybe it is also the way a modem nagotiates with the client. I really dont know what to say. There are so many modem-routers out there.

Same issue with my mid 2010 iMac 10.7.3 (11D50). WiFi does not connect from sleep (have to manually select network), drops sometimes, and poor speed/signal. Never had an issue before update. Hope Apple fixes this soon.

My 2010 iMac does the same thing, upon waking the wifi does no reconnect and I have to manually reconnect it.  I did not have the problem on 10.7.2 and use a time capsule router which is only around 20 feet from the computer, never had any wifi problems ever before this, clearly it has to do with 10.7.3 update.  I treid the delta update and noticed the problem consistantly so I then downloaded the combo update and did that as well and the problem persists.  Wifi does not drop once connected, just needs to be reselected each time.  I tried deleting all the wireless networks from the list and then reselecting which did nothing to fix the problem

For everyone having this problem, if you feel comfortable trusting me... I am going to recommend that you delete the file /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist and restart your computer. If there is a problem with 10.7.3 loading the correct kext for your WiFi, deleting this file and restarting is supposed to allow your system to "re-install" the correct drivers for your hardware.

Same problem here on 4 month old , iMAC 21.5"/6770M

    •2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

    •8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB

    •1TB Serial ATA Drive

    •AMD RadeonHD 6770M 512MB GDDR5

Lost connection to a WRT610Nv1.000.3 , the router is unable to assign an IP by DHCP after Lion 10.7.3 update.  On the Imac change your IPV setting from automatic to manual and type in an ip address that is in range of your routers dhcp configuration as a work around.  After the Lion 10.7.2 update I had the same problem with the GigE Lan Connection, to fix that I had to reboot the iMac and flush the NVRam (apple key + P + R) on boot, then a second reboot.  But the wired connection would drop again.  I have a warranty, but never bothered calling tech support. This all has something to do with ipv6 support and older routers.  I went ahead and just purchased the airport extreme 5th generation, the specs on this router are awesome. If the new router doesn't work I will call apple and b!tch.

I used manual IP addresses instead of automatic and wifi stopped dropping. I think it was trying to renew its lease every few minutes.
