My 4th gen ipod shuffle will not switch on. No light comes on even to indicate that the battery is dead. It also won't show up in itunes. How do I get it to work? It is only a few months old.

Same problem. Have tried all troubleshooting page advice, using the latest iTunes version, up to date Mac OS, Shuffle only 4 months old. Any answers out there?
I have been having this problem and then I noticed the tip of the 1/8" connector was slightly popped out. I pushed it back in and now everything is fine.
My 4th gen iPod is not switching on or connecting to iTunes.
