Interested in Speech Pathologists who use facetime for speech therapy. In particular, I am interested in communication issues with people with mental retardation who can access facetime, but have intelligibility issues. Any comments would be appreciated.

I just thought about using facetime last night to check in with my private clients between visits. I currently have a kiddo working on /s/ which would be pretty easy to work on with the ipad. Are you an SLP and trying to get started with this. Are you thinking that it would be a therapy or a communication tool?
I do a fair amount of telemedicine work in NC and my biggest concern w/using FT would be is it HIPAA compliant.
I know that Skype can be made HIPAA compliant however I am not sure about FT. I'm sure a quick Google searchcoulkd answer this question.
My colleague, Mike Campbell at UNC-Greensboro, is one of the national experts in telespeech therapy and I'm sure he would be interested in learning more about your work.
