I reinstall Mac can't open my ibook

I have to reinstall lion and wipe out the disk, I took an ibook which I have created from Time Machine. I'm trying to open and its says that the file can not be opened !! please help !! it so many pages....

Is the file name suffix .iba or .ibook?

IBooks Author's files to open for editing are .iba type.

Is it possible that it was saving itself somewhere else? I still have a backup so I may find it if I would know where.... what is a possible location?
