Hi,
What format is the drive? Is it a new drive?
What OS are you trying to install, & what OS is on it now?
Usually when a hard disk does not show up as a destination for an OS install, it is because:
* The software install disks were for a different model of Mac and cannot be used on your Mac; or
* The disk is not partitioned in a way consistent with the OS that one is trying to install;
* The OS install is for an Intel Mac but you are trying to install onto a PPC Mac (or vice versa)
It could be other things but these ones seem more common.
Great ost Steve, thanks! 🙂
