I went with Crucial when I upgraded my RAM, I've had no problems and it's regarded as one of the best.

This article explains how to replace the RAM in your Macbook, as well as what the max RAM is as pertaining to your model.

Visit OWC where you can identify what RAM is required for your computer and information on how to install it. You can install up to 8 GBs of RAM: two - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMMs.

BTW, you have a MacBook Pro, not a MacBook.

Go to your Mac. On top left of the monitor will be an apple icon. click on this and click on "about this mac". There should be a line with 'memory' and the type of ram you already have. Then click on 'more info', then click on 'memory', then click on 'Memory upgrade instructions.'

No, it won't overheat. You have to replace two DIMMs with two other DIMMs, so it's still the same number of modules.

It doesn't make any difference. Just purchase from a reliable vendor. I can recommend OWC and DataMem
