Back in 2010, the iBookstore Publisher User Guide said Chinese was not supported.  But I suspect that could well have changed since then.  Do you have a more recent copy?

It's an expanding effort by Apple. Are you asking what Apple is up against in certain regions...is that the question?

It doesn't mention any language restrictions at all, which you would think would be listed if there were any.

I don't see how anyone here could answer your question.  All you can do is provide feedback to Apple asking to expand the choice of countries.

Keep in mind that as Apple expands the countries/territories it makes iBooks available into, we're all in the same boat.

'free' iBooks are new and evolving...you may want to wait for the program to grow.

You are free to put your content on your website in a more compatible format (PDF?) and let the world come to you if you like

You are confused again.  Apple's list says absolutely nothing about whether anyone can upload anything anywhere.  That is a totally separate issue from "Which types of items can I buy in my country?".

Sorry, I just would never assume that because I can get a free book at some store that I would automatically be allowed to put my own book in the same store for distribution.  But it is pointless to argue the point here, let Apple know how you feel about it.

I've confirmed that the latest version of the iBookstore Publisher User Guide from last month has the same language exclusions as the one from 2010, i.e. Chinese is not supported.  But I wonder if that is accurate -- are there really no Chinese language books in the iBookstore?
