Every time I try to save or print an old AppleWorks file, it crashes.

I am trying to go through my old AppleWorks files, to convert them to Pages. Some of them are old enough to need to be converted first to a new version of AW first, before opening in Pages. The trouble is, if I try to save or print the file, AW is crashing.

I need to do this, so that I can eventually move to Lion.

I am using AW 6.2.9, and Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my MacBookPro.

MacPro, iMac, MBPro 2.66 Intel Core i7, MackBook 2 G2, various G5's, Mac OS X (10.6.6), 1 TB Time Capsule (early 2009) & Airport Express

Try this: go to (user)/Library/Preferences/AppleWorks - this folder contains four files - delete them except for 'AppleWorks 6 Button Bars'.

Also delete the contents of (user)/Documents/AppleWorks User Data/Starting Points/Recent Items

Well, that changed things a little. After doing these deletions, as it opened the file, it said that it was going to add Version 6.0 as a suffix to the file name. And then it crashed when I tried to save it.

By the way, I have already tried replacing my AW application with one from another mac in my office.
