OK! No bluetooth printer option? What about USB printing?! Come on Apple!!!

If bluetooth printing is not going to be an option, then, what about USB printing? This way one can use any bluetooth printer. PLEASE DON'T SAY, "IT WILL USE BLUETOOTH PRINTERS ON YOUR NETWORK! When I'm working out in the field, I DON'T HAVE A NETWORK, but I do have my bluethooth printer and I can use with a laptop, but why not the iPad. It's wonderful at almost everything else. This is so disappointing!!

Here we go again! No WiFi!! No internet!! No network!! I just want to print. I don't need any of these with my laptop. I just print bluetooth or USB.

I know what's available. It's all WiFi or network related. When I'm in the field, NONE of these are available. I wish Apple would take into consideration the thousands of others that are in the same situation as I am.

In terms of PRINTER DRIVERS. . .ok, so be it!! The camera kit allows for USB connection. I can use a USB mic just fine. I'm sure something could be done. Are there any plans? Do I and many others have anything to look forward to? I don't need to use my iPad at home or the office. I have a desktop. My iPad is for mobile use--on the go. It would be great to not have to depend on WiFi!

I'm not a whiner. I am a business man with a ligitimate complaint. Why offer business Productivity sotware if it will not follow through to the final stage--PRINTING!! Again, again, and AGAIN. . .I DON'T NEED THE IPAD WHEN I'M HOME OR IN THE OFFICE. I HAVE A DESKTOP!!! When I'm on the road, WiFi is not always available! Why can't anyone understand that?!! I'm shocked at your response!

If the iPad will not accommodate printing via other means, then don't advertise printing. Just mention that it is meant to be a monitor to surf or check e-mail, or for gaming. But, you can't tease people with great business software and then not follow through with printing unless you have an airprint printer. Now, you''ve got to go out and purchase aanother printer, and then that is no gaurantee that you'll have internet access.

As for as PRINTER DRIVERS are concern. . .so be it!!

To be taken seriously as a businessman, I suggest you stop yelling (all caps), use correct spelling in your posts, understand your audience (this is a user-to-user tech support forum, not a soapbox, and not a place to address Apple), understand that demanding something that is not available (bluetooth printing) will not make it so, and not repeatedly post the same rant.

I've since voiced my complaint to Apple. I used caps for emphasis because I can't underline, not as a way of yelling. I am a very passionate person and I do have a successful business. Apple has had nothing to do with that, but I admit, I am interested in their products. I see great business potential with the iPad 2.

That being said, perhaps I should ask, what is it that others are doing to get around the print issue. Are there work-arounds, etc.?

What did I mispell?

If your laptop is a MacBook you can set it up as a wi-fi router, effectively giving you a wi-fi network in the field. If the printer is connected to it by USB then the iPad will connect to the MacBook via the internal wi-fi card and you should be able to print from the iPad. I don't believe you can do this with a Windows PC though.

Alternatively buy an Airport Express to give you a wi-fi network in the field - they're pretty compact and portable, you'll need a power supply tho'!
