iDVD bad quality

I'm on a Mac with latest Snow Leopard 9GB RAM and latest iMovie and iDVD. When I import an hi rez quicktime movie into iMove 4GB's and export it with no compression and take it into iDVD. Some place it gets compressed and the result has a massive loss of resolution and sharpness also color is a bit flat. Please help. If I do a "get info on the final DVDit's like 244MB. Please help.
Thank You

and latest iMovie

That is your problem.

Use iMovie 06.

iMovie 09 and 11 uses 'single field processing' meaning every other horizontal line of the video is thrown out, which reduces the sharpness of the footage. iMovie 06 uses ALL of the image to form the video.

iMovie 06 and iDVD 11 is a "lossless" combination and my DVD's look perfect!

iMovie 06 is very easy to use.
