For no reason my photo booth comes up with a camera with a line through it (Like no smoking signs) and the button won't work to take photos. I have run utilities and closed all other software but it still won't respond?

no I have never touched parental controls but checked anyway and it shows nothing has been set up for any parental controls. I also ran Disk Utilities again and shut the computer down but when I start it up Photo Booth still has no response on taking photos, although I can still bring a photo up and do a slide show.
Any chance you might have enabled parental controls on your iMac? If yes, then you'll need to lift the restriction in the preferences menu.
