How Do I get rid of the "s" sound when recording

Any ideas on how to get rid of that "s" sound when I'm recording?

I'm using an AUDIO TECHNIKA AT4040, also use a SAMSON CO1U USB STUDIO CONDENSER...

along witha POP-SHIELD. I'm sure that I don't have a lisp, but everytime I record and then play back,

I can hear those "ssss" really loud and clear.. Very distracting. Any help would be appresssshhhhiated. Thx

there are specific plugins that can remove the "s" sound called "de-essers."

However, if you don't want to purchase one, you could try to achieve a similar effect with EQ, by identifying and notching back on the offending frequency.
