How do I get top 100 album charts for a single year? i.e 1991
I would like to flush out my music collection, and would like to purchase the top 25 rock, country and pop songs for specific years from 1985 to present. Is there anyway to find such a playlist or album chart?

There's more than one chart. Almost every music publication issues their own year-end charts (Billboard, Rolling Stone mag, etc, etc). Visit the site of whatever publication you like or trust the most.
Apple is in the busness of selling music, they could sell a lot more is the implemented the option to search by top genre, album, top single, pick your country, chart, year billboard or publication. I for one, am lazy picking through thousands of songs is too time consuming for most of us. Pre packaged list will sell more music.😉
