My 2009 iMac's hard drive is dying.

What is the easiest way to have it replaced?

Should I take it to an Apple store to have it replaced?

I don't have an extended warranty.

Yes, you can take it to an Apple Store. You could also try doing it yourself. Just visit OWC for a selection of drives, tools, and tutorials.
