how do I register garage band

I purchased a PowerBook Pro last year and just now started using Garage Band 11 . I assumed since it was bundled with my laptop it was fully functional. But it needs to be registered in order to save files as .wav. I do not know whether or not I had a registration number specifically for garage band. I do have the back up cd that came with the computer. What do I need to do to get it registered?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Your GB is fully functional without a registration. You can register it nevertheless, to receive product support notifications from Apple, but it is not necessary.

But GB does not support the .wav format on output, only on input. You can only export .aiff, .aac, or .mp3, and registering GB will not change this.

Maybe you are confusing this with Quicktime Pro? To use Quicktime 7 for Audio conversion to "wave" you need to register Quicktime 7 as Quicktime Pro, but that is no longer possible, afaik.

Use an Audio Editor like Audacity (it is free) to convert your exported GarageBand songs to wave files: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

And just in case you really want to register GarageBand: 😝
