Mac Dictionary is not working

Mac Dictionary is not working. I get the error "You can't use this version of the application Dictionary with this version of Mac OS X."

I have Dictionary 2.0.2 and OS X version 10.6.8 -- What do I need to do?

Thanks!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Go to ~/Library/Preferences

Move the com.apple.Dictionary.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.

Try opening the Dictionary app. If you don't see that dialog, move that .plist file to the Trash. Otherwise move it back to the Preferences folder.

If that didn't help, see if there's any software updates available. Click your Apple menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update...

If you're talking about a spelling dictionary, you're in the wrong thread. This is about the reference application bundled with Mac OS X, called Dictionary (for the record, in Mac OS X v10.6.8 it should be v2.1.3), not about spelling.

Post your question as a new topic. Specify the app you are using, what version, and exactly what actions you are taking.
