Feb 7, 2012 10:40 AM in response to BYMASTERby Gino Cerullo,I understand but I don't have a solution. My testing shows that it works when testing with my equipment. I presume that if you can connect to the router to administer you should also be able to connect to the disk. The only other thing that I can think of is that a port is being blocked somewhere.

Apr 7, 2012 9:49 PM in response to fariswheelby Gino Cerullo,You need an iCloud account. Enter the iCloud account name and password in the Back to my Mac settings on your Airport Extreme or Time Capsule. See my screen shot above.
Once you've done that any disks attached to the Airport Extreme or internal disks on a Time Capsule can be accessed from outside your home network. They will show up on the side bar of the Finder no matter where you are as long as you have a connection to the Internet.

Apr 7, 2012 10:36 PM in response to moborthoby fariswheel,i have done so but i am still unable to view it.
will it show up the same way as it would if i am inside my network ? or will i need to use idisk ?
also will my router need to be dhcp through my modem as the modem needs to be the primary
or will i also need to setup a my extreme with my ppoe info aswell ?

Apr 8, 2012 5:10 AM in response to fariswheelby Gino Cerullo,iDisk was strictly a MobileMe feature it has nothing to do with what we are trying to do here.
In my case my Airport router is making the PPPoE connection so that could be the difference but I want you to check one other thing first.
In Finder preferences make sure that Back to My Mac has a check mark next to it.

Apr 9, 2012 12:11 AM in response to moborthoby fariswheel, done so still no signs of help i will have to reconnect my router and modem and setup ppoe on my router and see if that helps

Apr 9, 2012 5:46 AM in response to fariswheelby Gino Cerullo, fariswheel, you should also know that Back to My Mac also requires that the routers you are connecting to while you are away from your local network must support UPnP or NAT-PMP and that feature must be enabled in the router. With that in mind you may find that Back to My Mac does not always work when connected to some other routers and networks. Also, certain firewall settings on other networks may prevent Back to My Mac from not working.

Apr 10, 2012 5:23 PM in response to fariswheelby Gino Cerullo,What is the error message you are getting?
I did not have to configure anything special, other than what has already been discussed in this thread, to get it to work.

May 24, 2012 7:09 AM in response to moborthoby miguel Machado,Hi
I have one problem thta would be dificult to solve. With my old internet proveder, I did'nt have any problems with sharing my disk connected to my Airport extreme. But with a new internet provider, I have to use other Router that do the DHCP and olther stuff. The solution was connect my airport via ethernet and use it in "brigde mode". This soluction works well, but, when I connect outside, I only see my iMac. So my question is, anyone knows the protocol or port that we need for use to share the disk?
Thanks
