iphone 4s unable to join network

I have the same problem "unable to join the network"

"... going into Settings>General>Reset and reset network settings..."

would this erase all data that lets you auto-connect to known WiFi networks

Im only getting the 'cant connect pop-up' to one particular known network ...?

I had the same problem with iphone 3g.

Go to your router and do the following:

1. Choose a wireless channel between 1,3,6, and 11 only and see what works. In my case, I have selected channel 6.

2. Also in the 802.11 mode, select the option the says mixed 802.11n, 802.11g, and 802.11b.

For the last few days I have been unable to join Wifi networks. Tried at home, at work, at Starbucks. Very rarely the phone would connect but then internet would not be available or a few packets would go through and then stop. I did all the resetting I could think of and nothing helped. I suspect that my hardware is broken. Any ideas?

I have the same problem and doing a reset of the network settings, reset of the phone, etc. hasn't worked .. Any other ideas?

Happened after I updated to iOS6 and I'm using Iphone 4s.

hi I have the same problem with my 4S. I can´t connect to wifi network at school. The problem is Eduroam network in the school. With other wifi routers at home etc I don't have any problem. problem started since i upgrade to iOS 6. Macbook pro works fine and other devices too. I tried to restart iPhone and reset network settings. The problem has only iPhones 4S with iOS says school support of eduroam network.

Today said me to ask apple to help me downgrade to ios 5.x.x. There aren´t problems. But it´s bad joke ask apple help me to downgrade 😀. any other idea? Has anybody the same problem with university wifi network EDUROAM?

Yes, I have the same problem with eduroam network (I am using the New iPad). I have no problem with any other wifi, just the eduroam. I am also from Czech rep. but I've heard it's not the problem. Ist worldwide. On university helpdesk I was told to wait for next upgrade, so I would like to ask, when it should probably come out? They also told me to ask Apple for downgrade, which I think is not possible. Thanx

Did you already look at iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections or iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim ?

A little more information would be useful. However try going into Settings>General>Reset and reset network settings. Afterwards try rebooting the phone.

click on the wifi netowrk you want to join and then click on the blue arrow for that particular wifi network. it takes you to another page, scroll down and click on renew lease.. it worked for me!

I do NOT have that option "renew lease."
