Q: apple works shutting down

every time i open apple works it shuts down.  i can get it to open but when i try to open a folder/file it shuts down.  what could be causing this? 

 

i am using snow leopard. apple works 6  imac ver 10.6.8

Did you run Software Update a couple of days ago & apply the security update? If so, run Software Update again. Apple has released a new version of the security update that fixes the problems the first one caused.
