Q: AppleWorks crashes on Save As

Has Apple changed something in OS X (10.6) that renders AppleWorks incapable of using Save As?  The straight Save from menu or keyboard still works fine.

I noticed a previous thread possibly concerning this but the link is no longer valid.

Tks

I thought it was something like that.  About the only thing I was keeping AW was for the paint because there is nothing else out there that will even open thos files much less work on them and I have several hundred to somehow get converted to JPG, preferably, or something else If I can find a decent bitmap/pixel program to use that doesn't convert my B/W to grayscale.

Know what you mean by their arbitrary defuncting of perfectly good applications and they call themselves "USER FRIENDLY" but they are fast becoming UNFRIENDLY and I have been with them since back in the 80's.

I just did a COMPLETE reload of Snow Leopard from my original disk and had to do the 10.6.8 update package just to be able to post here again.  FYI: there is no way to leave out any of the updates with that package and I did not notice a 10.6.7 package.  I checked and AW now performing as normal as it can under OS X.

I remembered to install the Rosetta as well on the first install (must do a custom install then check the boxes of what you want to install.)  I also unchecked about printers and all languages but English so the install only took 31 minutes instead of close to an hour (memory of previous install from disk).  I only forgot that I had SLEEP mode set up so had to say around  to be sure the computer did not go to sleep which would have possibly contaminated the install.

One thing on that link:  The restore OS from Time Machine.  You must have free space available for the ENTIRE OS before you can do the restore.
