How do I get current apps on new iphone?

I just got a new iphone (old one tool a swim in cup of coffee). I did a full sync with my itunes account with my new iphone but when I launch a lot of my game apps all the progress I made on old iphone is gone on new iphone?! How do I get the exact copy of that app game with all saved progress onto new iphone?

Thanks!

Yea I did get a screen that said something about restoring from scratch or from "Brian Murphy" (Thats me)....Assumed that meant from my itunes account. I mean...everything else is there...Even restored stuff like my screen saver. It put the game apps back on the new iphone...just none of the saved progress is there on any of them. I fear the "saved" data for game apps are device specific.

I have backup on icloud....Will that help? Not sure I get the whole icloud thing...Isnt is just Apple's "off-site" backup server? I mean, lets call it what it is.

Thanks much for any insight/help here!

3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is included with the backup for the device, which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process if you are storing the backup locally on your computer, or with your iCloud backup if you are backing up your iPhone with iCloud.

You must transfer the backup for your old iPhone to your new iPhone to have access to 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app on your old iPhone.

That old backup was most likely created from a restore point. Backups created from restore points are time/date stamped & not overwritten. Do this: Delete EVERY backup listed under iTunes>Preferences>Devices. Also, on that same pane, put a check in the box labeled "Prevent iPods/iPhones from syncing automatically". Connect your old phone, right-click in the left device pane & select "Backup". Eject the phone when finished. This will create a current backup. Verify such under iTunes>Preferences>Devices. Then, on your 4S: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. Connect your 4S, right-click in the left device pane & select "Restore from Backup". Select the 3GS backup you just made, follow this by syncing to restore your iTunes content. You should be good to go.

Please help! I have tried al the steps here but nothing works. I backed up my old iPhone 4 that I had to give back to my employer, deleted everything from my new iphone 4S and then restored it via the backup from iTunes. Not a single app from my old phone came over. And there is no way for me to sync those apps manually from iTunes either. What am I missing?
