iphone apps will not open

On my iphone 6S my apps will not open - the apps are listed in "settings" - they also appear within the apps store - I can update the apps in the apps store - once updated the "open" box appears - but when I push "open" the app does not open (nothing happens) - all of my apps ( with exeception of Apple apps) have disappeared from my screen - I am suddenly appless - this happened when I unsuccessfully attempted to back up my phone on Itunes - when I connected the phone to Itunes, an error message appeared on itunes (cannot connect message) and my apps disappeared from the phone - help!!!!!

Could you be a little more specific? It kinda hard to help you when you don't that much information.

1. Try restarting the device.

Coincedentally this just happened to me an hour ago. I just loaded a free app from the app store (Temple Run actually) and all my apps started working again.

No idea why.

Thanks for the help. No apps would open. I started the down;load of temple run and even before it finished all the apps will open now. I dont understand why but it did work. thanks for the help

it opens then close, it diappears

any free app will solve this problem as a work around, nothing to do with Temple Run, although an awesome game or time killer .

Have you tried closing the apps? Double click the home button to reveal the multitasking screen. Hold down on one of the apps there. The icons should start to wiggle. There is also a red buttonn with a line through it at the top left hand corner. Tap that to shut down the app completely as if you were force closing an app on the mac or windows. Do this to all of the apps in the multitasking bar.

my phone is having the same problem as well, but downloading a free app doesnt work restarting it and holding down for 10 seconds will not work earasing my apps in the task thing doesnt help and signing in and out of my appl eid does not help any other suggestions to make all my apps start working again?
